Splendour in the Grass 2009 Byron Bay Dates Announced

Finally the long awaited dates for Splendour in the Grass held in Byron Bay annually have officially been announced and have been set for the 25 th and 26 th of July 2009. The location will once again be Belongil Fields due to the delays in organizing the planned new location at North Byron Shire Parklands site at Yelgun. The line-up is expected to be announced in mid April with tickets expected to go on sale somewhere in mid may.

The Splendour in the Grass festival does accommodate some camp sites but these tend to sell out very quickly due to there being far less camp sites then Splendour tickets. It is advisable to book accommodation well in advance of the festival as available places in Byron Bay book out early for Splendour in the Grass. The Splendour festival accommodates over 17,000 people per day, with 2,500 having secured camping permits outside the gates for the period of the festival. These numbers are going to increase greatly at the new location at North Byron Shire Parklands site at Yelgun.

Rumors run wild on the internet world with rumored acts to perform at Splendour include The Flaming Lips, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Pink Chemical Brothers Beastie Boys and the list goes on and on…
