Macleay Island
Macleay Island is a hidden treasure located in the spectacular Moreton Bay and situated just 15 minutes from Redland Bay on the outskirts of Brisbane.
Macleay Island is mostly a residential island which has a quiet and relaxed lifestyle offering a range of amenities including convenience store, pharmacy, bakery, hardware store, tavern and cafés. Macleay Island also has the necessary emergency services such as a medical centre, ambulance, local fire brigade and police station with residence.
The Island with its rich volcanic soil and sandy loam provides for its unique native flora and mangrove foreshore. Macleay Island also has approximately 200 resident species of birds.
Macleay Island is one of the only Southern Moreton Bay Islands that have sandy beaches. Some of the things you can do on the island include fishing, relaxing at some of the local parks, play a round of golf at the local golf course or venture down and enjoy spectacular bay view’s at the Bowls Club.
