Russell Island Pool To Get Solar Heating

As previously advised by Council, the Russell Island Pool will close during the cooler months after the school holidays in April.

Council is investing in solar heating for the pool, but this is to maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the swimming season (September to April) and counteract the effects of cooler weather during that time.

The solar heating will be installed during the closed period, and be available in time for the new swimming season in September.

At this point in time there are no plans to extend the pool season year-round.

Opening hours will remain at the following times until the end of the current season:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 5am-7pm
- Saturday : 6am-6pm
- Sunday and public holidays: 9am-6pm
(closed Tuesday and Thursday)

These hours will be reviewed during the closed period by the state government, as per the Joint Development Agreement between Redland City Council and Education Queensland.
