New directory supporting businesses in the Southern Moreton Bay Islands

Southern Moreton Bay Island residents will this week receive SMBI Fast Find, a free local business directory being distributed in the Bay Island Times.

SMBI Fast Find is a quick reference guide with an easy-to-read format designed to make it easier for islanders to identify and support their local businesses.

The initiative was the idea of the Bay Island Times, with Council providing funding and
in-kind support to produce the publication. Redland City Mayor, Melva Hobson, said the aim was to provide stimulus for the island community.

“We know how important economic stability and growth is for the islands, and hope the SMBI Fast Find will help those businesses working hard to service the island communities.

 “Council commends the Bay Island Times on its initiative in developing the guide and has been pleased to have an opportunity to provide support to the island communities,” Cr Hobson said.

Division 5 Councillor Barbara Townsend adds “It has been great to see this idea grow into a positive outcome for the community, particularly in difficult times.”

Individual listings were selected by the Bay Island Times based on its understanding of local need and the potential for benefit to these businesses. All listings feature as unpaid advertisements.

Additional copies of the SMBI Fast Find will be available from various outlets across the islands.
